Today is a yucky day here in Orlando. It’s chilly and raining and just dreary. The kind of day where you want to stay in your pajamas and slippers and just chill out and do nothing – so that’s what I’m doing. But I figured, that since I am dressed for the task of doing nothing, that I might as well do something constructive and tell you about my favorite slippers in the world, my Ugg® Coquette slippers.

In my crazy-large shoe collection, I have a few pairs of designer shoes that are over $500 and one pair that I paid $1,200 for. What’s great about Chinese Laundry is that as styles come and go, shoes that range from $49 – $129 like the Chinese Laundry brand enable you to buy a bunch of pairs. At those prices, you can even get rid of them at the end of the season if they are out of style. Today’s review is on my favorite sneakers in the world, the Mizuno Wave Creation 8. Now, I never thought that I’d be as passionate as I am about the sneakers I put on my feet, but now that I’ve been wearing these for the last 3 months, I can’t imagine wearing anything else.

When I decided to do the Breast Cancer 3-day/60-mile walk, a while back, I knew that I was going to need to go out and pick up some good sneakers that were going to keep my feet going.

The clerk at Sports Authority recommended Mizuno’s to me for what I was going to be doing in them. Now, I’m familiar with the usuals, like Nike, Asics, Reebok and New Balance, but I had never heard of Mizuno before and I was a little nervous to try a new brand.

The sales clerk enlightened me that Mizuno has been around for about 100 years and actually started selling footwear in the United States back in the 80’s, although they were more known for other sports products.

One foot inside these babies and you’ll definitely feel how good they are. They have to be the most comfortable sneakers I’ve ever owned in my life. The cushioning is incredible and they are extremely durable and flexible. They put in some sort of extra cushioning in the heel and the forefront makes it really shock-absorbing. The upper is made of a mesh material which lets your feet breath instead of sweating from having no ventilation.

What sold me on these is that they are super light for this level of cushioning and the toe-box is wide which stops my toes from getting numb whether I’m running outdoors or inside on a treadmill or on an elliptical.

Now, I’ve packed on the miles on these over the last few months and they basically show no signs of wearing.

If you’re looking for a durable, light and flexible, highly cushioned sneaker, the Mizuno Wave Creation 8 is definitely the way to go.

Today is back to school day for my kids – I’ve got three girls at three different schools, so things are a little crazy this morning.

We just saw them off to their respective schools.

So we huddled in front of the computer and picked them out. Then we got a big box at our front door last week with all the shoes.

The kids loved them. My oldest daughter, Caity, got some hybrid of a sneaker and a ballet shoe that looks cute.

The other girls picked up some High School Musical sneakers, and everybody is happy (especially my wallet).

Never in a million years would I think that I’d have anything in common with Dog the Bounty Hunter, but I do! We both love the Oakley Thump MP3/Sunglasses.

If you’re a runner or walker, there’s nothing worse that having that “ball and chain” feeling of wearing your music on your waist or arm and having the cords run up to your ears. It’s just a mess.

Well the Oakley Thump gets rid of that disaster because the speakers are built right into the sunglasses. I have the 512mb version and it holds about 100-120 songs and gets about 5-1/2 to 6 hours of play on one charge.

They’re super light, just like a regular pair of sunglasses. And, in my opinion, nothing beats the optical clarity of Oakley.
