Today, I’m going to be talking about one of my favorite products that I have in my kitchen. The iTouchless, SX Automatic, Hands-Free Trash Can. Yes, for all you germaphobes out there – this trash can opens its lid without you having to touch anything.

For those of you that can’t stand pressing a pedal or juggling plates and trash while trying to open the lid of your trash can, this product is for you. I bought it because I have this total pathological fear of germs and this trash can definitely help prevent the spread of them– especially when you’re cooking.

The iTouchless SX trash can holds 52 liters (13 gallons) of trash. It takes either the 13-gallon or 18-gallon trash bags, but I prefer to use the 18 gallon because the bags are easier to tie when they’re full.

The way it works is that there is an infrared sensor at the top of the trash can. As soon as your hand or the debris gets within a 6” range of the sensor, the top slides open for you to deposit the waste. Once you’ve cleared the sensor area, there is a 3-second delay before the lid closes.

Now, I’ve had the previous model to this. The lid used to flip up to open, but this new model is definitely better because since the lid slides open it takes up less space. It runs on D batteries or you can purchase the optional AC adaptor.

Besides the benefits of not having to touch it at all, I noticed that my 6-year old son always cleans up after his meals and throws away things like empty snack items, which he would have normally left around the house. I think he actually enjoys throwing the trash away now because it’s fun.

So if you’re in the market for a new trash can that will make your life easier and reduce the chance of germ-spreading, the iTouchless SX Automatic, Hands-Free Trash can is for you.

The Keurig Platinum B70 Single-Cup coffee maker is by far my favorite product that I have in the house. I recommend it to everyone, even if they’re not in the market for a coffee maker.

I love this coffee machine because it eliminates the two things that I hate most about other coffee makers which are 1) the fact that if you don’t drink the coffee right away, that it starts to get that burnt taste and 2) the messy coffee grinds that have to be cleaned up which really bugs me.

The Platinum B70 It is the second Keurig Single-Cup coffee maker that I have purchased. I bought my first Keurig (the Elite B40) about 1-1/2 years ago, but this new upgraded version is much better. First, it now offers 4 brewing sizes ranging from 5.25 ounces to 11.25 ounces. Second, the water reservoir tank now holds 60 ounces of water vs. the old 48 ounces, which gives you one additional large cup of coffee before you have to re-fill the tank. Lastly, it now has this blue backlight, which is pretty cool.

It is super fast and easy to operate. You simply insert a Keurig K-Cup of your favorite coffee or tea, which can be purchased online or in your local super market. Press the brew button and in less than one minute you have a great fresh and hot cup of coffee.

Clean up is easy too. Simply lift the lever and discard the used K-Cup and your Keurig is ready to make the next cup of coffee.

I highly recommend this product and hope you buy it.
