VTech V.Smile TV Learning System

December 14th, 2007 · View Comments

The VTech V.Smile TV Learning System is a video game system for kids ages 3-8. I’ve got three little girls that fall in that range, and they all love it.

There are games (V.Smile Smartridges) for all different ages, such as Blue’s Clues, Backyardigans, Dora the Explorer, and Cinderella.

These titles are some favorites for my girls, but they’ve got lots for boys, as well.

It’s a cool, little system, and it’s easy to use. You can choose different levels of play, depending on how challenging you wish to set it for your kids.

And the great thing is that the games build skills in spelling, logic, counting, problem solving, phonics, and vocabulary.

My kids have so much fun with their V.Smile that they don’t even realize that they’re developing their minds in language, science and math.

I appreciate this aspect, as it shows progress with video games. I remember back when I was first getting into video games as a kid, I had the Atari 2600.

I tried to make the case to my parents that it was so great, because it helped with hand-eye coordination. They got it for me anyway.

One thing that was sort of annoying, but I guess it’s the standard with video game systems, was that the V.Smile only comes with one joystick.

I’d definitely suggest picking up a second V.Smile Joystick, available for less than $20, so two people can play the games.

Otherwise, it’s a fun system, and the friends of my kids all love it, too.

We got the Vsmile last year, and Sissy loves it! She has the Dora game and the one it came with, and now that Chrsitmas is here, it’s about time to get another game ;) . It’s funny because she learns so much from it and doesn’t even realize it! She likes to play while I’m busy online and I hear her in the other room reading the words and adding the numbers and such.

Good point on the extra joystick, we had to pick up an extra one too, because Bubba was going to have to have something to hold onto…..at least pretend he was playing too! I wish it would have came with 2 joysticks, but definitly worth the extra purchase…..didn’t want to go down that road!

Lol, I remember playing Frogger at my friends house…… we were to poor to have Atari, we just had Nintendo later on!
