One True Media

September 18th, 2007 · View Comments

One True Media is a really good solution for people who want to create videos on the Internet, but don’t know how to do it.

I just tried it out to see how easy is was to create a video, because I’ve been getting hit up by friends and family to create videos for them using my more advanced video editing programs.

One True Media enables users to upload their pictures and videos, then choose a style, add effects, captions and music.

It couldn’t be easier. Then, the video is ready to share online at sites like YouTube, or to a DVD or TiVo.

One True Media is a really cool system for anybody interested in playing around with video and getting professional looking results in a matter of minutes.

Yeah, it’s a pretty cool service, until you go to order a DVD.

Customer service is just awful; I both emailed and left feedback, to no avail. When I finally tracked down a phone number (not listed on their website–gee, I wonder why not??) and called, they wouldn’t tell me anything more than “technical difficulty” and promised to get it sent.

    I’m still waiting. . . .

Yeah, it’s a pretty cool service. Until you order a DVD, that is. . .

I ordered 2. One came ASAP. The other is still “in production.” According to their own FAQ page, they are usually sent within 4 or so days. It’s been 23 and I’m still waiting. I emailed them and left feedback to no avail. Finally I found a phone number (there isn’t one on the website–no big surprise considering their lack of service!) and called.

I was told that they were having “technical difficulties” and that they were “working on it” by some woman who clearly had no idea what the problem was. . .

    I’m still waiting to get my 2nd DVD. . . .
